George Korbakes & Company, LLP was organized in 1993 by George P. Korbakes, CPA and Barry L. Gershinzon, CPA. The members worked together at a large Chicago CPA firm and decided to offer the client services found in a large accounting firm to clients in a more personal and customized format. Combined, the members have over 70 years of accounting experience to draw upon. With this vast knowledge and experience, our firm can easily relate to large or small clients and their specific problems with successful solutions.

Here at George Korbakes & Company, LLP, we operate as a boutique firm offering services to clients that extend beyond filling in forms or recording checks. Our clients are usually closely held with multiple entities. We assist clients with their financial reporting, contract and government requirements, tax and estate planning. Our clientele ranges from food and beverage concessions, rental equipment, commercial and residential real estate, entertainment, custom job shops and professional firms among others. Our clients range in sales from $50,000 to $100,000,000 in sales.

In addition to the partners, we have a compliment of full and part-time professional and administrative staff. We believe in personal attention to our clients. Each phone call is personally answered by our capable staff. 

Our firm has been peer reviewed as required by the AICPA, every three years since 1993. We have received the highest report, an Unqualified Report, throughout all of these years.

In keeeping with our belief that we are at the forefront of progressive accounting practices, our firm uses the most current  financial reporting, tax software and online services from Thompson Reuters (NetClient CS and PPC) and Wolters Kluwer (CCH).
